Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week

Dear L&L Family,

What a fun, colorful, and heart-filled third week of our Month of the Young Child! Our classrooms were bursting with personality, creativity, and school spirit as we leaned into a week full of joyful self-expression and meaningful connection.

We kicked things off on Monday with Mismatch Day, where creativity truly had no rules. Patterns, colors, and styles came together in the most delightfully unexpected ways, reminding us that individuality is something to be celebrated. Earth Day Tuesday brought a beautiful shift in focus, as children explored and appreciated the world around them through nature walks, conversations about caring for our environment, and hands-on discovery. On Superhero Wednesday, we saw both capes and everyday heroes come to life, as children proudly embodied strength, kindness, bravery, and the many ways we can make a difference. And we wrapped up the week with a sea of purple for L&L Spirit Day, celebrating the incredible sense of community that makes our school so special.

Next week, we’re heading into the final stretch of our Month of the Young Child, and we are ending on such a fun and festive note!

  • Monday (27) – Sports Day: Wear your favorite team jersey or colors
  • Tuesday (28) – Crazy Hair Day: Show off your most creative hairstyle
  • Wednesday (29) – Animal / Safari Day: Dress as your favorite animal or bring a stuffed friend
  • Thursday (30) – Donuts at Drop-Off: Start the day with a sweet treat together
  • Friday (1) – Popsicles at Pick-Up: Cool down and celebrate the end of the month with us

We can’t wait to celebrate this final week together and soak in all the joy, laughter, and community that this special month brings!


Right after we wrap up this incredible month, we will be transitioning into one of the most meaningful weeks of our year: Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. This is a time dedicated to celebrating the educators who pour so much love, care, and intention into your children each and every day.

We invite families to participate in simple, thoughtful ways throughout the week, and have also attached a flyer with more details for your reference:

  • Monday: Notes, drawings, or poems
  • Tuesday: Favorite sweet treat or snack
  • Wednesday: Flowers
  • Thursday: Favorite beverage
  • Friday: We kindly invite you to contribute to our staff brunch (additional details and Signup.com link will be provided by each site’s director; please adjust this accordingly)

You may have also already noticed all the “Favorite Things” sheets posted outside each classroom, which can be a helpful guide if you’d like to personalize your gestures.

Participation is always optional, but these small acts of appreciation go such a long way. They help our teachers feel seen, valued, and celebrated, and they model for our children the importance of gratitude and kindness within a community.

As we reflect on this past week and look ahead to all that’s to come, we are filled with gratitude for the joy, individuality, and connection that fill our classrooms each day. Thank you for being such an important part of our L&L family. We are so lucky to celebrate all these wonderful occasions alongside you and your children. 


How You Can Join the MOTYC Celebration at School 

One of the most meaningful parts of the MOTYC is the opportunity to bring our school community even closer together. As you all know, we love opening our doors and creating moments for families to step into your child’s world, because there is nothing more special than seeing their pride when they get to share their classroom with you.

Throughout the month, there will be a variety of ways for you to participate:

  • Join us for special themed days like Family Friday, or drop off in your PJs during Pajama Day
  • Participate in classroom activities whenever your schedule allows it: whether it’s reading a story, joining a small group activity, or simply observing the day in action
  • Engage in our community celebrations, including Donuts at Drop-Off and Popsicles at Pick-Up!
  • Help your child prepare for dress-up days, and match the spirit with your own outfit, bringing a little extra fun and excitement into their school day

Even the smallest moments, like walking into the classroom together, seeing their artwork displayed, or sharing a quick activity, can have a big impact on your child’s sense of belonging and pride! We truly value the partnership we share with our families any day of the year, but this month is a beautiful reminder that when school and home come together, this is when children really thrive. Thank you for being such an important part of our L&L community. The laughter, curiosity, imagination, and joy we see each day are constant reminders of why this work matters so deeply.
